Call for Submission

U Magazine and LAMA HOURANI Creations are
looking for young emerging talents in Art, Fashion and Design.
Aspiring
designers have a chance to get the exposure they yearn for and the chance to
unleash their creativity in a new way. With a continuous effort to introduce
young Arab artists /designers /stylists to the national/ regional art and
fashion scenes, we’re providing an opportunity to unleash their capabilities to
the world, and meet up with some of the most aspiring art and fashion names in
the region.

 

About the competition
In celebration of LAMA
HOURANI’s 10 year anniversary, we are organizing a competition where candidates
create and style a piece of art (painting, installation, photography, sculpture,
graphic design, graffiti...etc), product, fashion item (head piece,
outfit...etc) inspired by their favorite LAMA HOURANI jewelry piece. Candidates
are encouraged to experiment with several forms of media. Best creations will be
chosen according to the following criteria:
-Concept and originality.
-The
inspiration drawn from lama’s jewelry or photography.
-Media used.


Chosen pieces will be nominated to enter the
second phase of the competition where finalists will get featured with their
creations in U Magazine and lama Hourani’s website.
The winner of this
competition will get the following:
- A Master piece from LAMA HOURANI. 
-
The chance to display his/her creations alongside international designers and
artists in Foresight32 the Shop.
- Exposure in U Magazine. 
- A
certificate signed by our esteemed judges.

Entry
Requirements:
Fresh graduates or individuals with a
background in fashion, styling, design, promotion, art direction, hair and
makeup, or another relevant discipline within the creative industries as either
professional experience or gained through an appropriate educational
qualification.

your favorite piece and get inspired; make sure you also take a look at the MOOD
Section to understand Lama’s indirect inspirations.

Entries
must be sent by email no later than 8pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 to info@lamahourani.com with the following
details: 

- Personal information – Name, Age, and
Background (no more than 100 words). 
- Artist statement (no more than 100
words). 
- A Digital image of samples, sketches, ideas or concepts of your
work; please label the image with your full name.
